For companies employing foreign nationals
Companies that employ a large number of foreign nationals face unique I9 form issues. Foreign nationals are permitted to work based on their visa statuses. Those statuses are limited in duration and must be monitored. Failure to do so could inadvertently lead to the continued employment of a foreign national who no longer has work authorization. An employer in this situation would be penalized and fined. Companies with large foreign employees on payroll thus must keep detailed and updated records of work expiration dates to avoid massive fines.
